We have appointed our first “Youth Ambassador” to help promote our work with young cancer patients to our younger age group.

Andy has been a friend of the charity for a couple of years now after being introduced through C & J Antich Ltd, his sponsors and supporters of Laura’s charity. Andy has already taken part in and attended events for us, including doing a spot of modelling!   We wanted to make his role more official and recently asked him to become our first ‘Youth Ambassador a position he accepted.”

Andy Raleigh re-joined Huddersfield Giants in 2006 following stints at Sheffield and Hull and is tipped as a potential Great Britain player.

Andy Raleigh “ It is a pleasure being able to work with the Laura Crane Trust, I have known about the charity since my days at Greenhead College and therefore I am quite honoured to be asked to step up to the role as their first Youth Ambassador.  I want to be part of the future for Laura’s trust and help make a  vital difference to the young cancer patients we support throughout the UK.  I am ready to tackle the challenge as I become Youth Ambassador for the Laura Crane Trust !

The Laura Crane Trust launched its “Youth Against Cancer” campaign three years ago and has received huge support for it both locally and further afield.  As “Youth Ambassador”, Andy will be stepping into the role of figure-head for the campaign. The “Youth Against Cancer” campaign aims to raise awareness of cancer in young people and to encourage young people to take up the fight against cancer in young people of their own age.

Andy was the perfect choice because of his age, because of his high profile locally and because he attended Greenhead College around the same time as Laura and Andy’s brother Nicholas was a friend of Laura’s. We feel he has a special connection to Laura’s trust  and we are looking forward to working together.
