Support for existing adolescent cancer patients

Cancer in the 13-25 year age group is less common than in children or in older adults, and therefore expertise in this area is less frequently found. For this reason, young cancer patients often have to receive their treatment some way away from their support network of family and friends at home, which can make them feel isolated at this particularly vulnerable time.

A support network of people who understand what you are going through, not only with your illness but with the usual preoccupations of this age group, is absolutely vital. The Laura Crane Trust is committed to helping create and maintain this kind of environment for as many young people as possible, to improve their lives while they are going through their treatment and in the aftermath of their illness.

In the whole of the UK and Southern Ireland, there are only 22 hospitals which treat adolescent cancer.

Through our adoption by Outfit, we are able to provide money to each of these hospitals for equipment/events/experiences, chosen by the patients themselves.
