The Laura Crane Trust no longer promotes specific overseas challenges
but is delighted to support the fundraising efforts of those participating
in charity challenges for the charity.

Both Skyline & Classic Tours offer a wide range of overseas experiences
that can be joined by raising a minimum amount of sponsorship.

Example of overseas challenges below.

Sahara Trek

The Sahara desert stretches from the snow capped High Atlas mountains of Morocco in
the west, to the Red Sea coast 4800km to
the East. Its landscape varies from a stony
flat expanse to perfect wind blown sand
dunes, broken only by the occasional oasis.
The feeling of space and of solitude is
awesome. With proud Berbers as our guides
and a small caravan of camels to carry our supplies we will trek 100km through this
varied and stunning landscape.

Ice Cap Trek, Iceland

Iceland is a land of incredible contrast and beauty. Its wild volcanic landscapes, mountains, glaciers, hot springs, geysers
and waterfalls, combined with its rich history make it a fascinating country to explore.
Our challenge takes us from the active Mt Hekla to Landmannalaugar and then south through the mountains to the permanent icecaps of Myrdals and Eyjafjallajokull. This
is a challenging trek through a remote and potentially hostile enironment.

Cycle Vietnam

Vietnam is an incredibly diverse country, with ancient cultural sites, amazing landscapes and friendly hospitable people. Our challenge explores the remote and traditional North of Vietnam, passing through incredible scenery of karst limestone cliffs, dazzling green rice paddies and lush jungle. The area is rich in local culture and populated by many ethnic hill-tribes, who still wear their own colourful dress.
As well as experiencing traditional life as we cycle through sleepy market towns and villages well off the beaten track, we also have time to explore bustling Hanoi, the French colonial capital of the north. This is a wonderful and at times tough cycle challenge through a land where the bicycle is still the most important mode of transport!

Cycle Cuba

Cuba is the Caribbean's largest and least commercialised island and one of the world's last bastions of communism. We ride along back roads passing towns and villages which seem frozen in time. There is barely any traffic, just a few horses and carts and tractors.
Highlights of this ride include the Bay of Pigs, the Sierra del Escambray miubtains, Santa Slara with its statue of the legendary Che Guevara and the captivating city of Havana which boasts spacious plazas and glorious Spanish architecture.
