Words From Patients

“… I am a long term patient at Llandough Hospital and I think a dance mat for the Playstation would be fun for everyone.”

“I think the unit could possibly benefit from a smoothy machine…. Solid foods are often intolerable to many patients therefore a smoothy machine could make tolerable food…”

“… would it be possible to have decorations like big posters to brighten up the atmosphere. Or maybe a balcony with a good view to allow fresh air and for patients or parents to relax and block the treatment from their mind. I apologise for being fussy but when one has suffered a lot during their treatment in the ward, they would want to use their own experience to improve the stay for newer patients… Thank you for reading my letter and much appreciated.”

“… maybe some exercise equipment, weights, an exercise bike or treadmill. The reason I have mentioned exercise equipment is because after all my treatment I don’t feel as strong as I was.”

“I just wanted to send you, and all involved, a very big ‘THANK YOU’ from every one here at the Young Oncology Unit at the Christie Hospital… all the patients send their thanks and appreciation, such thoughts really do make a difference.”

“… I was surprised and delighted to read letters (offering) a gift to the adolescents who attend our service… to be perfectly honest, one of my greatest sorrows is the extent to which we fail to meet the social and developmentally-appropriate needs of our adolescent population…”

“…thank you very much for this gift. It was very sweet and thoughtful of you…”

“It is wonderful that Outfit has chosen to support The Laura Crane Trust and no words can adequately express our appreciation for the generosity you have shown towards our young cancer sufferers. I know they would ish to join with me in saying a most sincere ‘THANK YOU’ to everyone concerned.”
