Afternoon Tea and Treats

Spectacular September saw many fantastic fundraising activities and events, the amazing Afternoon Tea and Treats held at Bertie's in Elland, raised over £2,000. The event was held in association with ASBCI, the Association of Suppliers to the British Clothing Industry. Afternoon tea was provided in The Crystal Ballroom which included a delicious range of tea, cakes and sandwiches.

The afternoon was filled with food, fashion and shopping. Guests enjoyed a fashion walk-through of evening wear and delightful afternoon tea. The modelled clothes were kindly supplied by the ASBCI. One of the models for the day was the charity's ambassador Sarah Dransfield, who actively promotes diversity in modelling since becoming an amputee at 16 due to treatment for osteosarcoma and now wears a prosthetic leg.

The event, which was held 17th September, offered guests the chance to browse a selection of accessories and giftware stands. Lots of lovely treats were available to buy on the day, such as candles, cosmetics and accessories.

The charity would like to say a massive thank you to all of those who helped make the day a huge success. This includes Stephanie Ingham and the team from ASBCI for supplying the fabulous clothes for the fashion show and Paul Simpson for hosting the event and selling candles to raise funds for the charity. We would like to thank the models Sarah Dransfield, Alice Bentley, Anya Lowton and Nicole Lowton. A big thank you to Olivia Rhodes from The Huddersfield Giants Cheerleaders and friends for volunteering during the event, hosting the charity stands and for selling raffle tickets. The trust would also like to thank those who hosted a stand and donated a prize for fundraising during the day, Arbonne, Karen Makin, Rose and Lily, and Ann's Hat Room. Also Mandy Taylour for the donation of some fabulous prizes to help with the fundraising and of course, all the guests who attended.

For those who enjoyed this event, or were unable to attend, a similar afternoon tea event is taking place at Bertie's on Tuesday 7th November with Northern Ladies.
