We have started receiving some very special messages from patients and families, which we will be sharing with you soon, but the following feedback we received from a Youth Support Co-ordinator at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool and it demonstrates that the gifts and donations you make toward our Christmas gift appeal, go even further than we imagine. This is such a thoughtful note from Rob and we are extremely grateful for him for taking time to write to us.

I am writing to thank you for your ongoing support for our TYAs over Christmas and beyond.

You have provided gifts at Xmas for our patients every year since I started in post. This is now over 7 years ago and from what I can gather you were supporting us even before that too.

I am very conscious that many of us (myself definitely included) often don't seem to find the time to thank you for what you provide as we are busy working with the amazing patients within our service and with the Xmas period in general tending to be extremely busy.

I want you to know that your service is so important to what we do over Xmas and what you provide is absolutely pivotal for our age group. Personally I find that working with TYAs in a Paediatric setting our age group are in danger of becoming a bit lost over Xmas. In general, our TYAs will potentially struggle more with their treatment and diagnosis stopping them from having the break they need but also overall we just simply struggle to get age appropriate gifts in for our 13+ year olds - all while the younger children are seemingly getting gifts on an almost daily basis from various organisations.

We seemed to have an even tougher time this year sourcing gifts for the TYAs and when I received your package it genuinely made a huge difference to what we could give out. The gift sets as part of the extra gifts were exactly the kind of things we have been trying to get donated for the last month or so and your boxes and in particular the Amazon vouchers are another gift that I know our patients will love getting and will make use of. With the vouchers in particular - the fact that you have donated 10 vouchers for us means I don't have to dip in to my budget any further and frees up cash for me to use on TYA activities over Xmas and beyond. For instance we have taken a group out to an Xmas panto and meal and also bowling and for a Christmas meal over the last two months because organisations like yours have helped out with the donations over xmas. I think it's important for you guys to know that it's not just the amazing gifts you deliver, it is also that by providing them it means I can use my budget for other things which can make the Xmas period as special for our TYAs as it is for the younger children.

Once again thank you so much for always supporting us - myself, the rest of the staff team and most importantly the young people themselves really do appreciate it so much.

Rob
