Coming together to help fuel the sleigh

We were once again blown away by the support we received for our 2018 Christmas Gift Appeal.

We were once again blown away by the support we received for our 2018 Christmas Gift Appeal.

Thanks to the generosity of our fabulous supporters we were once again able to send out hundreds of special gifts to all the young cancer patients (aged 13-24) spending their Christmas in hospital. Gift bundles were sent to 405 young cancer patients in 43 hospitals throughout the UK and Ireland.

We were delighted to receive messages from patients and families over the Christmas period. One of those messages was from Kirsty MacDonald whose daughter Amy had received a gift and she wrote "Thank you from the bottom of my heart for Amys lovely gift box x" and shared this picture of Amy.

We also received some really generous feedback from a Youth Support Coordinator who highlighted the importance of the gift deliveries - read here.

We would just like to say a huge thank you from the team. None of what we do would be possible without the good people that say yes to our request for help.

A very special thank you to our Corporate Santas, One17 Charitable Trust, Bastion Estates, The fm Company, Frank & Alex, LV= and C & I Smith Building Contractors Ltd who provide a financial contribution to ensure we are able to continue this important support each year.

Thank you also to Ramsdens, Lloyds Copley and LV for providing festive elves to help create gift boxes, lovingly wrap and package hundreds of gifts for delivery.

Thank you to Sir Jonathan North Community College, the Association of Suppliers to the British Clothing IndustryGlick, Huddersfield Asda, Brighouse and Huddersfield Tescos for their contributions and thank you to Helen Balfour and the fantastic volunteers who source, collect and wrap selection boxes that are included in the gift packages.

And thank you to supporters Ann Stainthorpe, Jill Heywood, Janet Bannister, Debra Lumb and Ann Mervill who joined us throughout "the big wrap".

It is truly humbling for the team to see the dedication and support so many people offer to ensure our Christmas gift campaign is a success and that young cancer patients spending their Christmas in hospital get something a little special to open and know that we are all thinking of them. A huge thank you to all those who contributed.
